The Milton Chamber of Commerce hosted breakfast session that featured the Turkish Consul General in Toronto, the senior representative for Turkish Airlines, and representation from the DEİK Türkiye–Canada Business Council and the CTBC.

The CTBC’s Executive Director moderated a panel titled "The Future of Regional Cooperation: Mediterranean–Canada Partnerships" that featured Nursel Atar, representing CTBC WoN, and Şölen Mailoğlu with Turkish Airlines. The panel focussed on the theme of Women in Business.
Organized in partnership between the CTBC Women’s Network (CTBC WoN) and the Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations, where WoN participation included a total of four businesses, three of which are women-owned: Esma Fine Foods, Akita Rose Water, Lokum Eats, Sengunay Thomas Services Financiers Inc.
With over 150 persons attending the event in the large function room at the Dentons law firm, seating capacity was exceeded to the extent that a back folding wall at the end of the room had to be opened up to provide additional seating for all.

Over the course of 2024, the CTBC strengthened ties with major Turkish business NGOs (TÜRKONFED, TOBB, MÜSİAD, İTO) that are keen to partner with the CTBC via their respective affiliations with DEİK, the CTBC’s primary Turkish partner.
The CTBC collaborated with the Alberta government, the Canadian Embassy in Ankara and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) on an extremely successful visit to Türkiye by a delegation of nearly 20 Alberta firms involved in the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors.
This CTBC/MNP-hosted event coordinated by CTBC Board Member Badar Shamim attracted key Canadian firms in the sector, including Mackenzie Investments and Global X. A related bilateral session for the Borsa delegation with senior CSE representatives was also arranged. This all augers well for a planned CTBC capital markets business mission to Türkiye in 2025.
CTBC Executive Director Mike Ward gave a presentation on Canada’s Critical Minerals Policy and participated in a panel discussion on international trends and policies in the Critical Minerals sector. The conference included Turkish and international speakers.
With over 100 persons attending, Ambassador Hamilton spoke about the Turkish economy, noting that economic reforms are in place that business prospects are good for Canadian firms. Among other things, the Ambassador indicated that he is looking for potential options for Turkish Airlines to increase its flight capacity to Canada. In addition, he noted that the next meeting of the Canada – Türkiye Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), which Canada will host, will likely take place in Toronto in 2025.
